VS9 - Created Video File Doesn't Contain Audio Track

Post by ukrix »

Hi. i have to admit I'm new to all this video editing lark, but enjoying it all the same. One thing in VS9 that's doing my head in tho! I've created a project based on a capture from a camcorder with an audio track added. When I play the project from within VS9 occasionally the audio track just doesn't play. I hit pause, then play and suddenly the audio starts. When I finally come to "Create Video File" from the share option, the resulting MPEG, or WMV contains the video, titles, transitions, original video audio, but no audio (i.e. music) track. Very odd! Am i doing something wrong? Somehow I think it's a problem either with the project or VS9 itself. Can anyone help?!

The problem may well be that you don't know what you are doing. It could also be hardware related. We need system spec's and project/capture settings to give any meaningful advise.

ok, so it's VS9 running on an HP NC6000 laptop. I imported video from a Panasonic camcorder intoDV (AVI) format. I split the video by scene and then did further pairing down using the multi trim function. I then added an audio track (an mp3 file) to run for the duration of the timeline. Once I was happy with the final edit, I went to "share" to capture to video file, saving it as an mpeg. As I said earlier, the mpeg creates fine, but the music track is missing.

I have followed the manual to the letter and cannot see where I've gone wrong.

Let me know if you need further info.
