I have been using VideoStudio X2 for more then a year to edit my AVCHD files from Sony HDD camcorder. My PC has Intel Quad Core Q6600 with 4GB of RAM and is running Vista 32. I just upgraded from Nvidia GS 8600 to GTS 250. As a result my computer's video score increased from 3.5 to 5.9 which is a lot.
The problem is that since upgrading, playback of AVCHD files in VS is now worst then when I was using my old card. It is even more choppy, and I still need to create proxy files. In addition, VS also takes now few minutes before it starts rendering final output. It looks like it is frozen until few minutes later starts showing progress at 0%.... Anyone encoutered this before? Is there a "VideoAcceleration" option that I missed that should be enabled for VS to take advantage of the better hardware? I was not looking for a huge boost, but over all deterioration of VS performance after spending few hundred dollars concerns me.

Windows 7 fixed the problem
UPDATE - I just upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate ( I was picked as a Party Host in Microsoft's promotion and I recieved a free copy ) and all my issues are gone. Windows 7 has built in AVCH support which is great and so fare VideoStudio appears to be running quicker then on my previous system with Vista. Not sure if the video card helped with that or is it all Windows 7.
