Hi, this is my first post. Please be patient.
My camera is Canon ZR930. I'm using VSProx2.
I have made 2 training DVD's with no problems. On my third attempt I had about 2 hours of raw video that I have edited down to a little less than 1 hour and 6 minutes.
I'm not changing any formats. I simply click to capture the video and do the editing. When I "Play" the video in the Share step, everything is fine. However, when I click the "Burn" button I get some weird results.
At the beginning of the film for about 20 seconds it is jerky. I removed some rolling title and that seemed to help a little bit, but not eliminatte the problem. Further into the film, there is a clip where the video lags the audio for about 10 seconds and then catches up.
I have made changes (making the project shorter) and burned it over about 8 times. The last is no better than the first. I'm in the green area on the burn.
My first two projects are also over an hour and there were no problems at all.
Might I need to take VS off of my computor and reinstall it?
My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite P305D-S8828
Problem in rendering or burning

First, welcome to the Forums!!
Your camera is a mini DV standard definition one. So can we assume you have captured in DV/AVI format via Firewire?
Second, though what you are doing sounds just a little bit confusing the way you have described it, it seems to me as though you are doing your editing and then jumping straight to Share > Create Disc > DVD, but can you confirm that, please.
Third, if that is in fact what you are doing, I recommend you try another workflow. Finish all your editing, but then choose Share > Create Video File > DVD (since your project is just over an hour, that should be OK, especially if you have Dolby or mpeg layer 1 audio selected.) This will produce a DVD-compatible mpeg-2 which you can burn in a separate step. You can also test that mpeg-2 in a software media player like Windows Media Player or PowerDVD or WinDVD to see if it still has the problems you mentioned. If not, then come back here and we can provide some further advice.
Note also that after you produce your new mpeg-2, you go to File > New Project. Don't worry about giving your new project a name. The objective is just to clear the timeline of your current project.
Once that is done, you select Share > Create Disc > DVD. The burning module will open. Use the Add Media button at the top to insert your new mpeg-2 in the burning timeline. Then go to the middle of the three icons in the bottom left of the burning screen. There is a little box beside the words 'Do not convert compliant mpeg files'. Make sure that box is ticked (it usually is by default). That way, your already compliant mpeg file will not be re-encoded. Then build your menus and burn.

Just to add to Ken's post.
Do you suffer the same problem at the same point in each of the 8 burns? Or, does the same problem manifest iteslf at different times during the movie, so disc one maybe 10 mins, disc 2 12mins disc 3 6 mins etc?
The first would point to a problem with the original files the second a problem with maybe resources.

Thank you very much to both of you.
Ken, I did exactly what you said and it worked perfectly. Now I have 3 projects under my belt. I have never done anything with film until now. I'm sure you could tell that. I'm gradually picking up some of the lingo and I will try to make more sense in the future.
Again, thank you so much for your help and how quick it came.
Take care, Carl
