Movie Factory 5 & 6 Directx issue
I have searched extensively and have found no answer to the issue I am having. I had Movie Factory 5 installed that came with my burner and I got a new burner with lightscribe and wanted to upgrade to Movie Factory 6 because of lightscribe capabilities. The problem is when I tried to uninstall 5 the uninstaller would start and I would get a message that said I needed to upgrade to directx 9 when I currently have directx 10 installed. Downloaded a 3rd party uninstaller and uninstalled it that way. When I tried to install Movie Factory 6... The installer would start and get to the same point and give me the same message. Last time I checked 10 came after 9. I had seen some people talking about Movie Factory 7 so I am currently trying it out before committing to it. But I would like to have the option to go back because Movie Factory ran like a charm and I will take that over lightscribe any day of the week if i have to make a choice. I am running Vista 64 with a Phenom II Black Edition 8 gigs of ram.

There is no need to uninstall an earlier version of MovieFactory before installing a new one. See my signature block below. Perhaps you can use Windows Restore to get you back to a few days ago before you tried to uninstall MovieFactory 5.
