Hi All.
Got a Helmet cam the records in the follwing format.
Container: MOV
Video: H264 (720P 16:9)
Audio: mono AAC
I wan;t to jsut be able to cut clips down without re-encoding.
So far I've found, or tried to do:
Clip > Save Trimmed Video, no matter what I do, I get error "Unable to get samples. (osErr=-9461)
So Try the following:
Share > Creat Video File > Custom (no prests match) > select Quick Time > Options > General tab. Change frame rate to 29.97 (match the source) Frame size, change to User-defined 1280 x 720
Compression > No choice of H.264?
Closest os MPEG 4 Visual.
Also change Quality to 54%
So, how to I simply cut a vid and save with the same settings as the input file and without re-encoding...
IF I got no choice but to re-encode, why isn't H.264 codec available?
Thanks

One of my sons has a small camcorder that records onto SD cards in MOV format. We found that the best way to handle them was to convert them to MPEG2 with Super and then use the MPEG2 file in VideoStudio.
Thanks.
The idea is not to convert them, VideoStudio can import it, editi it, clip it etc. But was hoping I could do this without re-encoding the file.
I did find AviDemux to be able to do this without rencoding. It's also free. So for simple cuts and nothing more (also can convert) its great.
I'll keep using VideoStudio for all the other tasks!
