Problems With Wavelab Install

Post by Budda_357 »

Hi Guys
Splashed out and bought the boxed version of VS12 Ultimate (very hard to purchase an upgrade boxed version in Australia the advertised outlets for the product do not carry upgrades and Corel who have an office in Sydney looks like closing it down as nobody there returns calls and the 1800 number now disconnected and with the fiasco last time with direct on line purchase through Corel website boxed is the only way that will buy their software) and the install went all ok until Stienberg wave lab LE V6.0.
Running the VS installer the last part of the process you get the OSD message of installing wavelab please wait and does not enter the install phase the HDD Led just goes idle. So know sometimes takes quite awhile to install some programs so gave it 50 minutes then had to power reset as could not even get the task manager up to close the installer.
Next rebooted and navigated to the autostart exe program inside the wavelab folder in utilities folder on the disc running normal or administrator does not start the process (system does not latch this way just does nothing).
Next tried running the setup exe will start install process comes up with where the program will install etc etc progressing to the MS warning about not having been passed by MS click continue anyway then my system just latches and have to do power reset as again can not even launch task manager.  machine.
Having the task manger running whilst trying to install can not see what process launched causing the problem and sys error log showed 3 red Service Control Manger error ID7022 this may have been when rebooted the first time of the lock up and quite a number of info entries of errors ID7035 after the 3 red ID7022 errors do not know if even is part of the problem.
Tried running as administrator also has same problem. Tried disabling all security except firewall (FW setup if any SW trying to access the net my FW software would seek permission first).
Running XP Pro Sp3 fully updated
T7200 core2 2.0 Gig
4 gig RAM (yes I know 32 bit system can only yarda yarda it was cheaper to by matched Kingston 4 Gig packs then).
Any help or suggestions would be helpful.
After 3 fruitless hours of gave up for today
Or just keep using the other usefull Audio editors that have like Audacity or the one from AVS it has some cool filters and stuff to clean and fix.
:x
But would be nice to get the Steinberg going never had a Stienberg before

Hi
Sorry I cant't help You with your installation of Wavelab.

Just as a matter of interest, I installed wavelab, installation seemed ok.

However Wavelab wont even recognise the presence of waves?.

Asked Steinberg help, HELP? its a joke.

I finally got them to see the problem after explaining it 5 times.

They gave Me the usual, are You opening waves, are You sure they are waves etc ad infinitum.

They said Your opening dialog box should look like this(their screenshot)

I told them it did but no waves present or even presence of waves.

They asked me to send a screenshot.

Why? I have already told them its the right screenshot, but NO WAVES OR PRESENCE OF WAVES!!

Asked if I should uninstall/reinstall, no reply.

Sorry about the rant, but I object to being treated as stupid.

Good luck with your installation, but I am using Adobe Audition 3, and will be using Audacity when My usb turntable arrives.

Regards.

I have a copy of Wavelab but to be quite honest I prefer the Free Audio editor Audacity.

In fact when VS11 was the latest version I suggested to Corel that they included Audacity in VSX2 as one of the "Extras" that they provide. I guess they half listened to me by providing WaveLab.

It looks to me like you need to purchase the set. I could not find where it was included with the purchase of VS. My .02 worth, it's not worth the money. Look at the backgrounds included with the set, and then compare those to what is already found in VS. All you need to do is be a little creative with what VS already provides...

In some cases it may be that your version of matlab has unrelated folders structure than what is assumed here and the folder matlab\toolbox\local doesn't exist. Make sure to check for the folder of matlab that contains the startup and path definition files and use it instead. In earlier versions of matlab it used to be the matlab\bin folder.

If you prefer to place WaveLab in a different folder of Matlab than the one suggested, it's ok to do so.

To look that you have every file that you should, go to Documentation\WavelabFiles.txt to see if everything is there!

Hi, Guys
It appears that the theme pack is shown on the Australian Corel web site visited the US & UK Corel site and could not see it listed and may be only for the Asia Pacific market for now. In addition, is alos for sale at a cost of AU$24.00.
Today received an email from Corel containing the download link for this (free bonus) theme pack. The size of the installer 43 meg the download speed for the link a slow 20k bytes peaking at 26k took 43 minutes to download.

Whoops accidentally selected submit.
After installing the pack the editing style folder inside the VS12 program folder is now some 275 meg in size. Did not check the size of the folder as thought the installer would go through the usual EULA & show where it was going to install the theme pack to compare the difference.

Appears to have added masks, audio, end and start sequences and images.
The masks & sequences look useful for use in the editing process and will add to the library.

The Australia web site does in fact offer the theme pack as a free bonus for purchasing VS Pro. Not available here in the US though..

Hi sjj1805 & vidoman
The email from Corel marketing department arrived the next business day after registering the boxed version of VS12 X2

Dear Corel user,

Thank you for registering Corel VideoStudio Pro X2/VideoStudio Pro X2 Ultimate, the easy-to-use video editing and disc authoring software for creating professional-looking videos and slide shows. This email contains the download link of the bonus Wedding Theme Pack. If you have any question about installation
etc etc
If you are interested this is the link that was hidden in the "Wedding Theme Pack" (email did not advise that this link was only going to be active for the short term only) <ftp://ULK7PE5U:ESYGS3MM@private.ulead.c ... ngpack.exe>

In addition, in the VS12 programs folder do you know the size of the of the "Editing Style" folder for a clean install of VS12 X2 before installing this theme pack as a matter of interest.

A funny thing sent an email to support re how to obtain the bonus theme pack and it appears that support emails are not read by carbon based support analysts but by some fuzzy logic automated response android who advises to contact Corel and gives a phone number for Australia & two others NZ & Asia Pacific
In addition, this highly technical fuzzy logic android gave a few helpful hints to help solve my request of.
Activation and Installation Instructions: Corel® Painter™ 11
Activation of Painter Essentials 4 - Written Instructions
Activation of Photo Album 7 - Written Instructions
Activation and Installation Instructions: Corel® Painter Sketch Pad

Great advice nothing really re VS or the theme pack being from an electronics engineer background finally know why they called it "Fuzzy Logic" real fuzzy.
