It's been awhile since I've posted, but I know you guys are a wealth of knowledge and I could use some help.
Loaded a recent vacation footage into Visual Studio 11+ and the date and time of filming show up on the screen and in the preview of the project playback.
How do I remove the date and time from continually showing during editing or creating a DVD?
Thanks.

I'm not sure in what version this was started (I am using X2) but in Preferences there is a box to check for Display DV Timecode on Preview Window. The default for this setting is *unchecked*.
If that doesn't work check your camcorder settings.

Date and time showing in the preview screen...
Thanks Black lab,
The program is Ulead VisualStudio 11+
No the Display DV Timecode on Preview Window is unchecked.
Initially when I tried to check it, a pop-up window said I need to have a VMR (Video Mixing Renderer) display card or I might have trouble with playback mode. So I never checked it.
I played the original footage in my Sony Camcorder program and in 'Inter Video WINDVD 8' prior to bringing it into Ulead and the date and time did not show up, only in Ulead.

Date and time showing in the preview screen...
Thanks Black Lab and Party Chief3 - I followed your instructions below and the date disappeared. Actually I used a third party software called IMTOO AVI MPEG Converter 3. It worked.
For others having the same problem, here are the steps from Party Chief 3 that I used to solve my problem:
My sony videos had the same time stamp problem. This is what I discovered.
When I "import video" from a sony recorded dvd while in VS11.5 the time code appears.
BUT
When I use the "Picture Motion Browser" software from Sony to "convert and save clip as..." to convert the files into mpeg2 files and then "import video" into VS11.5 the date disappears. ( Yes you "convert" a mpeg2 file into a mpeg2 file).
Recap:
1. Use the Sony supplied software to transfer from dvd to computer.
2. Use the Sony supplied software to convert the clip to mpeg2.
3. Open VS11.5 and import the converted clips.
Thanks again!
