Auto Transitions inserted

I have a project in the overlay track. I clip out a short portion of that clip and then reinsert it. (It is of a person walking and then the reinserted shows him walking backwards). When I insert the clip a transition is automatically added. I have gone to preferences and the auto add transitions is unchecked. I do not know what else to do to stop this. Thanks

You don't say what version you are using. Are you overlapping the clips? If you are using X2 and are overlapping the clips it will automatically put a transition between them.
