Remove audio from clips

Post by Ed & Ben »

Hi All

I have VS12 x2 pro. I know that when I place a clip on a time line that if I right click and choose "Mute" the sound is removed.

My problem is that if I have 25 clips on the time line I have to do each clip seperately. Is there a quick way to block all clips and mute all sound from the time line clips?

Many Thanks

Hi Ed & Ben

Sorry but no.....at least i don't think so.....
To mute the clips you have to do it to each.

If you were to render/create a single video file of your project, then you would be able to mute that.
Otherwise you have to do it one by one.

Knowing your video properties would help in deciding if creating a single file is feasible.

It would be best of course to edit/remove any unwanted frames first, adding transitions.
In fact completing the editing and leaving the audio to the last.
I assume you intend to add new sound.

It does involve rendering the video twice.

Another alternative is to save your project that contains the clips, start a new project and "Insert" the saved project into the new one. That "nested" project then acts like a single clip. Select the "clip" then click the Mute button.

Just to confirm yes I want to remove all sound and not add any. I have to supply video without sound for evidence purposes. Was hoping there was a one click cover all option.

I will save the project to local drive and import as a single file thus easing the mouse clicks.

Many Thanks to all.
