DV to DVD editing

Post by KeeganJacobs »

ok guys i have some questions, and im a beginner so please give me detail answers.

- I have my dv camcorder video connected and my video studio reads it which is good start.

- Quickest and easiest way to transfer DV movie intod a DVD ? There is a catch, i need to cut out some scenes .

- Cant i just import the video from my camcorder straight into the library of the Video Studio instead of having to capture ? This will save a lot of time because i dont want to sit there and wait until the capture is done.

- OK, i fnished capturing the long video from my DV, i went to share and clicked on create disc, DVD . When it was done burning and i replayed it in windows media player, there was no sound and clearly when i was capturing it , i heard sound. Why was there no sound ? Is it because i played it on windows media player ?

Basically i was hoping we can just import the DV video from my camcorder straight to my library or timline and i can quickly cut the scenes and then burn it to a dvd disc. Any tips how i can accomplish this ? Thanks,
Trevor Andrew

Hi

There are some tutorials here:-

And from camcorder to DVD here:-

http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?t=13421

Just a few questions though:-

1 / What version of Video Studio are you using?
2 / You mention DV camcorder, is this the type with a Mini DV Tape.
If not provide further details of your camera make and type.

3 / Are you connecting via Firewire?
If yes read my Quick Guide to Avi from the link below.

Capturing DV, you have to play the tape in order to capture, capture is done in real time.
If your camera is a Hard Drive type then the video can be downloaded to the pc. But these types are not DV.

As for sound, can you tell us, ¡§what are the properties of the video¡¨
Are you using the latest versions of Media Player ?
