can't find timeline

Hi all I am new to video studio using xp pro studio 12 2x.
I read about using the timeline but i can't find the timeline what I have showing is storyboard.
also I try to use cutting room but when there is video in the window cutting room is grayedout.
Sometimes I can make it do something but I don't know what I did it don't act like everything I have read says it does.
I guess I am just thick but I need help with most everything.

Three icons to the left, immediately above the first thumbnail in ¡¥storyboard¡¦ view allows you to switch to ¡¥Timeline¡¦ or ¡¥Audio¡¦
