Transition artefacts

Post by erdna »

I needed a crossfade between two clips containing quite a lot of motion. Knowing the blips problem I did put the clips on my timeline without crossfade and created an AVCHD file. Then I used the unified clip, searched the exact end of the first clip and made a cut (scissors) where I then inserted my crossfade. I don't know if it is just by luck, but no blips anymore!j

erdna -- if all you are after is a cross fade, and you have X2, then simply drag the beginning of the second clip over the end of the first clip and you will have a cross fade... I confess I don't know what might happen re the blips with AVCHD, but it certainly gives you a cross fade. But since no transition effect is actually inserted, perhaps it will get around the blip problem...

Indeed Ken, overlapping is the easier way for crossfading. In Both cases, overlapping, and inserting right after the first part of the unified clips, I get rid of the blips which are definitely there without the pre-rendering work around
