Ulead VideoStudio 11 Auto Music problems

Post by larikn »

Had VS8 with Auto Music working fine. Upgraded to 11 but now, in 11 if I click Auto Music I immediately get a message saying that the program needs to close and asks if I want to report it to microsoft. Thought I'd give you guys the heads up before they get it

Any ideas how I can sort this out, really need to use the software.

I have run the VS11 upgrade for the quicktime fix but no go.

:?: :?: :?:

I haven't used SmartSound in a long time, but they used to have a software update on their website.

They still do: http://www.smartsound.com/support/updat ... duct=ulead

The page that the link goes to may not have landed on the post referring to Smartsound, Quicktracks. You might have to scroll through the page but it is there..

There probably is not the exact wording of Smartsound crashing the system, however there are some possible remedies to smartsound problems. Did you try any of them, that you had not already tried? You might even have a faulty installation of VS, and have to re-install it. Back when I upgraded to VS9, I had a nightmare with smartsound, after reinstalling for the nth time, with fresh download files from Ulead, it finally worked. The problem was a combination of things, Quicktime version not being compatible, and corrupt download files..

Since Smartsound's Quicktracks uses Quicktime, the version of QT may be too current. I've had to roll mine back to an earlier version to get them to work.

I have done the SmartSound upgrade and uninstalled and re installed many times. Also rolled QT back to 6 which is what is suplied with VS8. As I said, VS8 works fine and Smart Sound works fine on it, just not with VS11

You've uninstalled and reinstalled what many times? VS or the Quicktracks Plug-in? Have you tried rebuilding the SmartSound library?

I've been trying to find a solution, which involves trying to figure out what is causing the problem on your system. I have VS-8 through Pro X2 installed on my XP (32bit) system and VS 10+ through Pro on my Vista (32bit). On both I have the most current QT player, not the QT plus Itunes.

Try looking in your Event Viewer logs to see if there may be some indication of why VS is crashing. Troubleshooting your Computer

Not sure how to put an image into this forum but I have a copy of the event that crashed the software now. It refers to the smartsound.dll V3.0.0.26, fault address 0x0027fcb0.

In regards to the post asking what I have uninstalled and re installed. The answer is just about everything! in every possible way. [/img]

To post an image you need to upload it to a hosting site like Imageshack, or Photobucket, or your own web space. You can then just copy/paste the links provided by ImageShack or PhotoBucket into your post.

Last year I had considerable dealings with one of Smartsound's techs. This was an issue specific to VS11, and Smartsound's 3.0.9 update. It would not cause VS11 to crash, however the music would not play smoothly. It would skip and cut out. They were aware of this, and confirmed that this was an issue specific to VS11. I never received a final email, confirming that they did get it corrected, so I'm guessing since they still have it listed as the update, they did.

To correct the problem it took uninstalling SmartSound, and then reinstalling, using a file that was sent to me. You might also try contacting support at smartsound, to see if they may also be able to help. I do know they are very good at working with you. It may be that your VS version has a corrupt Smartsound file. If so reinstalling VS will not correct it. Smartsound should be able to provide you with a file.
