VS X2 keeps on crashing with H.264 MP4

Post by ryoshid1 »

Trying to use X2 to make HD DVD with H.264 MP4 from a Samsung HMX10, but it keeps on crashing during the rendering process. Any ideas? Have 4 gigs of ram, plenty of hard drive space, and amd athlon 64 X2 4400 processor.
thanks.

Hi

First of all have you manually updated Direct X.
There is a link at the top of this forum.

Also there is a patch for X2 from the Corel web Site

Maybe nothing, but it's a simple update and worth the try.

It's also known that Windows Updates often introduces instability factors into other programs, and updating DirectX, and keeping it updated, often fixes these problems. Note that DirectX is not part of the Windows automatic update service so you have to manually download it, then manually run the setup.exe file.

One of my problems is that I don't know much about AMD processors. To process, and even play, H.264 AVCHD you require as a minimum a decent Intel Core 2 Duo or equivalent. But I just don't know what your AMD's equivalent is...

You could try converting the video first with
Super
This piece of software converts almost any video format into almost any other video format. Very useful if you've downloaded DivX Xvid or MPEG4 files off the internet and then find you are having difficulty editing them due to their highly compressed nature.
