I want three clips in frames side by side

Post by janjatul »

I am trying to get three different video clips in three boxes side by side with a text at the bottom.
I have put my three clips on overlay tracks 1,2,3.
On each clip I have applied two video filters: Cropping and Video Pan Zoom.
Using the cropping filter I have created one box for each clip. The first clip box is to upper left, the second to upper middle and the third to upper right.
Using the Pan and Zoom I have got the wanted areas of my clips to appear in the respective box.
The clips are in different overlay tracks but overlay each other.

Now my problem is that the cropping filter creates a colored (default black) area around the crop box. I would like this area to be transparent!

As it is now I only see the clip which is on top of the other two.

Hopefully there is a simple solution which I have overlooked. I have tried to fiddle around with Mask & Chroma Key, but it did not help.

Please help me with this.

Maybe I am not understanding you, because if you check the Apply Overlay Options box, choose Chroma Key, and pick Black as the color to be keyed out, it will change the black to transparent.

BTW, I would change the default black to bright green, as black is in just about everything and thus will be keyed out of everything.

Thanks Jeff,
Of course it works as you say.
And your advice to change the default black was great.
Once again thanks.
