I guess that is why I still am at it - occasionally I manage to produce a video or two - I do them in the AVCHD format and recently, actually burned a 1 hr BluRay disc. - The program is just glitchy. I am working to tweak Windows and the program - thanks all

Just spent an hour or two optimizing windows -aka removing the junk ya don't need. When I did Steve's first suggestion - The sound didn't work - I didn't shut off windows audio - so I loaded the other suggest URL suggestions and the program is still working and not using much of the resources. Wish I knew what shut off the audio - I think Steve has more stuff turned off than the gaming profile - Will have to turn things off one at a time and see what they do. Hope I live long enough - har har
Thanks again

Hi Gents

Interesting additions to the thread I started a couple of months ago.
Out of interest how do actually disable Smartrender, I assume you can't do this on a project you've already started working on ?

If it's any consolation I too sometimes have to manually re render some smart proxy files as when I restart an exisitng project they just ain't there !

He actually said 'SmartRender' not SmartProxy, Steve... And that is found when you select your Video output e.g. click on Share > Create Video File. And when you make your final choice e.g. DVD or whatever, a screen comes up asking you to give the file a name. There is also an Options button which, when you click it, has a number of boxes you can tick or un-tick. One of them is 'Perform SmartRender'...

Yes, but unfortunately the guy who asked most recently about how to enable or disable SmartRender is also the same guy who started this thread about SmartProxy in the first place. So I am not sure he could be accused of hijacking the thread -- just confusing the issue!!

Yikes - Corel is selling X2 on their website $39.99 US full and $29.99 upgrade. They either aren't selling or they are trying to close them out before the new one comes out (I am on my knees praying to the Video God for a new 64 bit upgrade, fix all the glitches, never crash, version of Video Stuido Pro) Drum roll please

Yes -- this has been discussed in at least one other thread. The price is of course excellent, but I would not be holding my breath about the imminent release of a new version just yet... I suspect it will be several more months yet...
