Congratulations! And re your earlier question, if the mini DV was only a small part of the overall producton, then that probably would matter less. If there was little movement in the DV, no fast panning, a few really strong verticals, you might notice it even less -- particularly if you are talking about mixing it with downconverted mpeg-2. If you produce high def with SD DV, then there is going to be considerable contrast in quality, quite apart from different field orders. But that will accentuate the difference.

Hi

Good news about the template, thats great.

My thoughts on mixing fields.

First I would consider creating separate projects/video files, there is no problem in adding several video files (titles) to a DVD with different field orders.

If I were to combine a project using HD video at higher and Dv-Avi at lower field the longest would normally take preference.
If there were quality issues then I would also consider rendering one of them to Frame Based prior to combining into a project.
The question has to be asked as to whether we render the HD to SD prior to editing?
If ¡¥yes¡¦ then I would use frame based during this conversion.
The combined project being rendered to Lower Field, maintaining the Dv-Avi order.

Never had to do this as I work with Dv-Avi and haven¡¦t yet progressed to HD.

Thanks for your observations..

Sometime in the future I'm going to make a mini project containing mixed formats from all my cameras and create video files using different presets and custom settings, to see how they turn out.

I'll post the results on the forum.
