7 of the images were ~150k then rest were WAY under that!!

I'm not referring to the file size, it's the actual size of the image, pixels.

Try to keep any images posted around 640 px...

Images have been re-sized but resizing to 640 would render the pics unreadable?

Accolades.
Thank you for all the help and assistance you give to fellow members on this user board. Could you please bear in mind when posting screen shots the following:

1. Not all users have broadband, even today many of our members rely on a slow modem connection and they have to pay for their connection to the internet by the minute or by the number of bytes downloaded.

2. Not all users like a large screen size due to difficulties with their eyesight and many still use an 800x600 display.

With these things in mind please could you reduce the size of your screen shots accordingly, where a large screen shot is required please use the thumbnail option or simply provide a link to the image rather than displaying the image itself.

Once again my thanks for your participation in these forums.

Now they are completely worthless, because no details can be seen.
And even 800x600 screens are scrollable. And bandwidth is no issue with the size of the original files.

Screenshots are to provide you with an idea, not minute details. When posting images to a web board, they must be restricted, so that it doesn't "break" the forum layout. With newer forum packages, coding is built in, that automatically resizes images that are larger than the limits. This is to prevent the horizontal scrolling. Try reading through posts, where you must constantly scroll back and forth, just to read one post. The web board software resizes the board to match the posts. So when images are posted that exceed that, all the text in that thread are resized accordingly. This is also a very important part of web design.

Corel provides a Media release package, that has large printable images. These can be downloaded by anyone and viewed..

Of course if there is a certain part of the screen that needs attention to detail you can simply crop your screen shot to only show the relevant bit!
so instead of this:

You can instead crop the image and show just the bit we are interested in

Remember - not everybody has an always on broadband connection.
Some members rely on slow modem connections and pay for that connection on a minute by minute basis.

Just to clarify a point here. When you hit the "Screenshot" key on your keyboard the resultant image size will be the resolution of your screen. In other words if you click anywhere on a blank part of the desktop then click "Properties" then "Settings" your screen resolution will be shown bottom left. Mine is set to 1280 x 1024. Clearly if your screen is set at 800 x 600 then my screenshot with a size of 1280 x 1024 will not fit onto your screen and considerable scrolling would be needed to view the image. If the image is then reduced to say 600px wide then as has been said much of the text will be unreadable.
However, I have looked at as many screenshots as I can find on various parts of this Board and very, very few, if any screenshots need to be a shot of the full screen. Mostly just the active window is needed to illustrate a point. You can, of course, crop to the section you need but it might still be unreadable. A far better way is when you come to take the screenshot make sure the window you need is selected and press Alt+Print Screen. Paste to an image editor and you will capture just the active window. Reduce the size if necessary to about 650 wide, choose a medium quality if you are saving to jpeg then 9 times out of 10 you will have a very clear and easy to read image.

As long as we know max width should be set 750 Pix

Then I can rotate the images and make the 750 wide x 2000 long

heheheheh

Only jokin....

As above I use Ifran view to screen capture/ crop and stuff so not too much pain...

Only when you have to go through and repost all the links!!
