Corel Video Studio X2.

If I recorded a video clip, say a few minutes in duration, can I insert into this clip a still digital image, the video clip fades away and the sound from the video clip continues as normal. After a few seconds the digital image fades away and the video clip resumes.

I hope you can understand this.

SORRY WHILE I WAS WRITING MY POST VIDOMAN POSTED. I ASSUMED THAT YOU DIDN'T WANT TO CUT ANY OF YOUR ORIGINAL CLIP HENCE MY LONG WINDED REPLY!

I think I understand what you want to do and yes it can be done in VS x2.
First is it important to keep the sound in sync with the video? The reason I ask this is that first you could split the audio from the clip. Then its fairly staraight forward to insert a still image or another video clip if you wish but that will make your overall project longer. The audio part can only be made longer if you are prepared to shorten the playing speed, thereby making the audio longer in duration to match the new duration of the roject. This could seriously distort the sound. Let us know what sort of sound you have on the clip. Is it speech or background sound or perhaps music?

Many thanks to you both for your quick and comprehensive replies.

The video I have compiled contains speech, not music, so I will give it a try.

Just tried a "demo" to see how I got on. I had to stretch the digital photo,

but other than that it works OK.

Again many thanks.
