Last week I posted a question about multiple installs on one purchase of PSP XII Ultimate. Basically, I have a desktop, but wanted to do an install on a netbook, so I could convert pics on my trip to Spain (in 5 days!!) When I try to install PSP XII (Using my purchased serial #) it stops on 0 seconds remaining....and doesn't move..... basically the install hangs. I am running what was installed on the Netbook.... Win XP with (I think) service pack3 installed. (if you want me to check, you have to tell me how I can check what SPs are installed.) Any thoughts on why it hangs or what I can do to get an install are appreciated. I have Ad-Aware installed...but disabled during the process. Also, no other anti-spyware etc. installed (will do so before logging onto the internet.) Other programs (so far!!) have installed fine. Any suggestions are welcome. I have a couple of reasons for wanting PSP on my netbook, not the least is that I have a blog for my trip and would like to show a photo or two (which must be in jpeg and I shoot in RAW.) Thoughts, suggestions or commiserations (is that a word?) are appreciated.
TIA
Install problem

PSP Photo X2 uses an anti-piracy utility called Protexis Licensing. It must be allowed to install and must be running before PSP will run. To check and see if it is, right-click on My Computer, select Manage. In the window that opens, select from the left pane, Services and Applications to expand it, and from that select Services. Now in the right pane scroll down to find Protexis Licensing. It should have Started under the Status, and Automatic under the Start up type.
I'm not sure if you may be running some utility that would prevent this from being installed. Don't ask what Protexis licensing is, you'll blow a gasket..
If you're running a netbook, I'm going to guess that you may be running Vista and not XP, unless you purchased this netbook some time ago. Vista also has security apps built in, Windows Defender is one that can cause install problems. If so disable it while trying to install.

Thanks for the helpful info. I am always impressed by the knowledge shared on this board (and wish I had more to share with others!!) Your input in my and other questions (along with those by sjj1805) is terrific.
I think the fault may be mine. I made a little memory stick (well not so little) with programs I would like to put into my netbook. Instead of trying to hook it up to a CD reader. So, I just loaded the PSP install from the disc I burned after downloading the program. I will try to hook the netbook up to a CD and install with the regular CD. (This is a long-winded way of saying the anti-piracy wasn't there--probably because I tried to take a short-cut.)
The netbook has XP. Most of them do....as they are mostly used for internet communications, they are not very powerful. As XP has a smaller footprint than Vista, most of the ones I looked at come with XP. I have the ASUS Eee PC 1005HA--about 3-4 weeks old. But both online and in store, very few models had Vista. Acer, Toshiba and Samsung are (for the most part) using XP as well. I did upgrade the memory to 2gig, but am not sure if I will go to Win7 when it comes out....I just don't think the processor on board will do a great job with a bigger operating system.
Thanks again

Rats...didn't work. Completed uninstalled PSPXII and tried a reinstall using the factory DVD. Same thing... hung at 0 seconds. Well, gave up for now. I installed another editing program (the one I used before PSP started converting Sony Alpha RAW files.) Don't like it as much, but it is usable!!
Thanks for the help.
