Recently when in the middle of editing I get an error message
VS has stopped working, windows is searching for a solution.
Then it closes
I use Vista Home Premium and display adaptor is NVIDIA G Force 7300 GS
This has worked fine until today and I haven't done anything different.
Any suggestions please
VS X2 shuts down

You haven't done anything differently, but has Windows or another program - such as automatic updates? Try doing a System Restore to a point in time when you know it worked.

I have tried this and the program was fine yesterday but I think I may know the problem. I made a sound file from a video clip as I just wanted the dialogue and when I clicked on this in the timeline to move it that's when I got the message. I tried this a few times and it happened each time I tried to move the sound file. I have deleted this sound file and it seems ok now, but why it should have happened in the first placae I don't know.

Well, could be the clip was corrupt in some way. Glad you sorted it out.
