VS Pro X3

Post by Budda_357 »

Hi Guys
Have had VS for a while when under Ulead banner with the last version VS11.5 plus and resisted upgrading to the new Corel VSX2 Pro Ultimate mainly for 2 reasons one being now under Corel and wanted to see how they supported it (was not surprised at their lack of support and actually said would go backwards to what good customer support Ulead or InterVideo provided). The other, being the main reason, so much was predicted for VS Pro X2 but the release candidate was a disappointment.
In addition, Corel released VS Pro X2 over a year ago now and still no hints to when a new candidate might be on the horizon does anybody have any news on when there may be a new release.
Have been looking at Magix Video Edit Pro 15 Plus and seems to be a good alternative.
Does anybody from down under know where in Australia you can walk in & purchase the boxed version and does anybody know the full specs for this version looked on Magix UK website and could only see basic specs (from what has been reported suppose handle AVCHD files better than VS) i.e. the number of video tracks, audio tracks, what type of edit tools, transitions and other helpful tools. at least they still include 3d software where Corel in VS canned the Cool 3D which believe to be a bad mistake.

The thread for VS wish list for future versions has been going a year now (this must come close to a record with no espy of an imminent release of the next version) with no hint or feedback from Corel with what is on their drawing board or if and when they will even start beta testing or even if they will release a new version is extremely disappointing.
The support Corel have shown has only hurt the product as can be seen in video editing software reviews that rated VS Pro 11.5 #1 last year a month ago has dropped the Corel VS Pro X2 to fourth place making special mention to Corels lack causing it to fall from the podium they also made special mention for their lack of support to this great forum (which also carries THEIR name) has taken the shine off the product.
Cheers From Down Under

First of all, this is a forum owned by Corel. I don't think it is proper to ask, or be given, information for purchasing a rival product.

As for a new version, I don't think Corel, or Ulead for that matter, ever announced that a new product was being tested. As for a hint as to when a new version might be expected, several weeks ago a poster mentioned that X2 was on sale on the Corel site and that might indicate a new version is imminent. I just checked Corel.com and there is a $20 savings available, but that doesn't seem like they are trying to clear inventory.

Don't be overzealous.

I don't think there is anything wrong about it, considering what Corel does (or, precisely doesn't do) with VS.

I, fe., want what I paid for, and don't get it. Do you think I'd spend money knowing that critical product defects will not be fixed?

I'm not being overzealous. Just following the Web Board Rules which state, in part:
This forum was built for Corel (InterVideo and Ulead) customers and guests who want to share their knowledge and ideas in this community. All discussion in this forum should be related to Corel (InterVideo and Ulead) products only (except for General Discussion section).
So if you want to continue the Magix discussion I'll move it to the General Discussion section. Just let me know.

It would be great if Corel followed its own statements just as precisely.

There is a "2010" express version that's available for $49 or with "Digital Studio".

No sign of a Pro 2010 version just yet.
A.A.'s Ulead/Corel software:VideoStudio X4, PhotoImpact X3, PaintShop Pro X3, PaintShop Photo Express 2010.

Hi, Guys
Was not trying to upset anybody have a lot programs for editing and creating slideshows and the likes but it is always good to have more than one good tool as Uleads Video Studio has been and was asking for suggestions.
Have purchased a number of programs from Ulead and Corel and just trying to supplement it with something comparable which thought the Video Edit Pro was.
Now even more concerned the there will not be any future release of Video Studio Pro after visiting Corels web site and they have released a whole lot of new products.
As it has been said Corel own the forum then why have they not made mention even in the web users news board to this new lot of products.
Corel Video Express 2010 apparently there will be a whole suite called Digital Studio 2010 making it a one product every thing containing Corel® PaintShop Photo™ Express 2010 photo editing and photo projects made easy Corel® WinDVD® 2010[b/] superior DVD playback made easy Corel® DVD Factory™ 2010 and the Corel® VideoStudio® Express 2010
Digital Studio 2010¡Xthe best software for making movies, photos and DVDs all this for just US $99.99

I hope I am not over stepping my bounds here, but I think I should try to clear some misconceptions.

The Digital Studio Package is for entry level consumers to make quick productions based on templates. It has a video component, a photo component, a playback component and burning component. The tools are very simple and straightforward.

From my understanding there will be a new version of VideoStudio. I don't know when it will be released, I have no idea of any new features. I just know that it is in the works.

What Jeff wrote is correct. In fact the old "Ulead" website was finally updated by Corel, and reflects these products on their landing page..

http://www.ulead.com/runme.htm

Sad note is that the older Ulead products such as MSP 8 is no longer found on Corel's website. In the past clicking on the All Products link would bring up these old programs. There is only 1 way left to obtain them, and that is through the "Corel Store", and then going to the Store Catalog.

On the brighter side, at least they have developed some new products.
All we have seen up until now was the demise of MediaStudio, DVD Workshop, Gif Animator and a number of other programs.

Thankx Jeff, VidoMan & SSJ1805
It's just frustrating when you consider how quickly Corel released Video Studio Pro X2 after VS Pro 11.5 it has been more then a year since since VS Pro X2 was released and still with no expectations of some thing in the distant future makes this years out of the question for a release.
As it has been said there is nothing on Corel site with what is in alpha or beta testing the only product showing is word perfect .
For the moment it looks like Corel will push the new Digital Studio Express suite (and monitoring the take up). The advertising looks impressive and if the sales are greater then they expected that they do not turn the Video Studio Pro into a fully fledged professional product which would come at a price that would take it outside most peoples budget.
Have loved using VS Pro it has been a good learning tool.
Has given many hours of enjoyment in video manipulation. With a few little extra features like twin preview panes for multi-camera editing and more video & audio tracks would be make it truly awesome entry level video editing product.
