Creation Time for DVD Authoring

What is the average dvd authroign creation time using Video Studio 11.

I have authored a dvd with some menus and chapters.

It varies depending on your source video files, duration of project and the systems specifications of your PC.

Right... If all of your audio & DVD compliant, and you've selected Do Not Convert Compliant Files, it will only take a couple of minutes. Not much longer than copying a 5MB file. If you're converting from a "difficult" format, it could take an hour or more. (I used to read posts here with people complaining that it's taking 8 hours to convert from DivX! But, I haven't seen any of those posts lately.)

I usually work with MPEG-2 files, and when these need to be converted I'd say it typically takes 10 - 20 minutes on my system.

Assuming your mpeg-2 is DVD compliant, and you have a fairly uncomplicated menu structure, and the project will fill a single layer DVD, then at the 4x speed I invariably use, that takes just around 25 minutes to convert the menu to video, multiplex the video and audio and burn to disc.
