Is it possible to have 2 different transitions on Text? I want to do something like a Fly In and a Fade Out. I know I can have two copies of the Text next to each other on the timeline and do a Fly In for the first and a Fade Out for the second, but I hate having two copies for every text I want to do this with.
Thanks,
Richard

It can only be done via workarounds, which I'm sure there are a few, your's being one such workaround. Saving your text with one of the effects applied as an video file, then re-inserting it and applying a second effect. In this scenario I would apply the effect specific to text (fly-in) before creating the video file. Then you could apply the fade-in affect to the video file...
You could also use a third-party title creation program, like Xara 3D or Bluff Titler.

Thanks. Reading the forums I see that often the workaround is to create a new video file and use that video file for subsequent things. Maybe this is a preference thing, but to me this is not really a good solution. I want to be able to regenerate my movies without having to edit a bunch of intermdiate projects and video files

Well...you could spend $1000+ and buy Premier Pro or Final Cut Pro. With a consumer level video editor you'll have to work with work-arounds.richlux wrote:Thanks. It's not ideal but you either limit your imagination according to the tools at hand or stretch what tools you have to come close to matching your vision.
I don't think it's specific to consumer level versus professional. Pinnacle Studio and PowerDirector both let you do this. I think the key is that you can't get everything in one package at the consumer level. I've chosen VideoStudio because it gives me the best compromise of features for the price. That said, however, it is frustrating when you find seemingly simple features that are not implemented
