Capturing original file names

I have captured
5 dv tapes to my PC. I have produced about 6 files in .vsp taking scenes from the
5 dv tapes. Unfortunately I erased the original captured files. Now I have a relink problem as I have captured again the
5 dv tapes and the new filenames are now different from the original captured files.
How can I capture again the original files with the original filenames?

I don't think you can do that (I think the name is derived from the date & time), but you can rename the files back to the old names. (Open the folder in Windows Explorer. Right Click. Select Rename. Or, or click twice with a pause so you don't "double click" and directly edit the name.

How do I know what was the the name of the original file?
Thanks.

the new filenames are now different from the original captured files.
If your new files are all in the same folder can you not just re-link one of them and then the others will automatically re-link. Or have I not understood the problem?

VS will not recognize the other new filenames because have been re-captured.
I think this cannot be done. Maybe I can change the PC's clock for the day I captured them. What do you think?
Thanks.

There is a little more to it than just re linking.
You can only re link to a video that is as long as or longer than the original.
If you recapture the video and it is smaller - even by only a frame then you will not be able to re link to it.
