Will not save to DVD

Post by Mike Warren »

Yes i went to folder on my hard drive where I downloaded Direct X and opened and pressed setup as you said and then ran, but saw no change in my burn problem or anything else.

And yes I get picture in preview screen - as I did before - when I press play in second burn window. Gentlemen, I'm at a lose! Am I the only one with this issue?

Mike Warren wrote:insi... no I do not have Windows 7. I've been using XP for some years now and had no problem burning DVD's in CORAL video studio 11. Only now, since I installed Pro X2 on on my Windows XP have I had this problem. And now also Video Studio 11 is doing it, but NOT my old Pinnicle Studio 9 or Video Explosion, which I keep for situations like this. Regards, MIKe
Hi Mike

Have you tried re-installing or Repairing VS 11

Reinstalling VS 11 sounds like good idea. Didn't think of this. However, seems to be no "Uninstall" for VS 11. And when I go to "Remove" it from my hard drive i get this window: "Error reading setup initialization file." So I cannot remove it to reinstall. I'm afraid if I reinstall Pro X2... if possible, I will lose my hundreds of thumbnails that are now neatly catagorized in Library. It's starting to sound like I'm going to have to live without Pro X2's burning process, and instead render my project to hard drive and somehow burn from there. Regards... Mike

I found this while searching for something else. Worth a try:

PROBLEM RESOLVED!!! It seems both Trevor and Black Lab led me in the right direction... and what I should have done in the beginning.

SOLUTION: I clicked "reinstalled and repair" on VS 11, but with no success. VS11 still could not get pass "next" button in preview window for burning DVD. I then uninstalled VS11 from my hard drive. Then Clicked "Reinstall and Repair" on VS Pro X2, on which my project is. Then restarted computer... and everything was now working properly. I clicked the "next" button in preview window and BANG!... I was in the burning window for the first time. What a relief! So a big THANK YOU to all of you. Regards, Mike
