VS9 Video Capture

Hello I am hoping someone out there can help me, I am using the following.

Windows XP with SP2 and all current windows updates.

My capture/tv tuner card is an Adaptec AVC-2410 PCI with the latest available new driver.

The problem is when I switch to capture I get the following message.

Unable to switch to capture mode, check if video capture driver is working properly, failed to build preview graph

Now I know the capture card is working fine as I can use the following program, WinDVD Creator Platinum v2.0

Any help on this would be appreciated before I pull whats left of my hair out.
