For some reason, if I try to "Save as Still Image" from a video file, the file it creates is a blank .jpg file. It has no file size. If I change the option in the preferences to .bmp, that works. It just won't create a .jpg. Any ideas?

I found that if I bring the original .avi that I captured into the project, I am then able to "Save as Still Image" from anywhere in the project. Then dicard the big raw file, and finish it up.
Moral of the story:
Vista is a joke, biggest mistake I have ever made.

Hi
There are two options to saving an image.
From ¡¥Clip Mode¡¦ will save the image from the original file. (Clip-Save as Still Image)
From ¡¥Project Mode¡¦ will save the image as you see on preview screen (Tools-Save Current frame.....)
By the way have you manually updated Direct X, See Announcement at top of VS forum.

Must be a Vista problem. Most likely due to 64bit. VS is not really a 64bit program. Anyway a BMP file is better than a jpeg as it is not compressed. You will see that by comparing the file sizes.
