Support Responce from Divx Support on Divx 7
I asked Divx the following question about why Divx 7 will not work with VS X2 here is the reply.
"Your Issue:
Will the new Divx Pro 7 work with video editing software such as
VideoStudio Pro X2 like Divx Pro 6.8 did???
Where you can select the 7.0 codec and change its
paramenters and then encode with it???
I have seen on the internet when it willl not work like 6.8
did and is a more stand alone software..is this true.
On 9/8/2009 DivX responded:
Hello Sam,
Thanks for contacting DivX!!
As of right now we haven't tested it, but it should work. The only
difference between 6.8 and 7.0 is the DivX Plus HD profile that outputs
to MKV. In order to be able to do that we simply added some filters to
our Codec. If the software doesn't recognize our new Codec I would
contact VideoStudio.
Let me know if you have anymore questions
Regards,
DivX Support
I noticed on several forums, including the Divx forum that lots of the
Video Editing packages can not use Divx 7!!
If thats all you get is the HD outputed to MKV, then I think I will stay with
the Divx pro 6.8.5 and save my money.

Hi Ken
Sorry but I thought I replied to your Div X post.
After your original post I updated my Div X to Version 7.0. (a while ago)
Although I now have V7 player the codec installed on my pc hasn¡¦t changed and still shows as Version 6.8¡K¡K (used Sherlock to scan pc) I also took the opportunity to uninstall DivX prior to installing V7
So does Div X Version 7.0 codec exist?
mitcs0ke
I cannot blame Video Studio for not recognising the codec as V7.0 just doesn¡¦t exist on my pc.
Maybe you should scan your pc for installed codecs to indentify which one you have.

Hmmmm... I will when I am back home (travelling for 11 days)... though I seem to recall seeing DivX 7 in another program... But as I say, I will check...
It would also seem very odd that they would announce a new version series -- which after all relates to the codec -- but not actually change the codec.
