Special effects for MPEG-2, HDV, or (aaaargh!) avchd

Post by Macadoon »

Hi all,
As said in an earlier post, I'm making a war film trailer. I'm wanting to create some special effects, such as muzzle flashes, explosions and smoke. Is there an easy way to achieve this in VS 11.5? Or is there some other software that will allow these effects to be added into avchd, hdv, or mpeg-2 in post production? I have some software already that does this for avi (only) files, but I want to keep the clips in my timeline within the mpeg family.

I'm a big fan of Digital Juice and their high quality effects. They can be exported to a multitude of formats.
