Post by legendaryharry »

hi when ever i save a project to like mpg or avi or what ever format the file sizes are ridiulously large. 2 second clips at like 60 percent quality are 3 megs. an original WMV video is converted via video studio to a mpg and it becomes 50 megs!!!! and that was at 90 percent quality. why is it that everytime i save a file it is ridulously large!? some one please help as it plagues me deeply

For avi files in DV format you can count on about 12-13 Gb (yes, Gb :!: :!: :!: :!: ) per hour. Just buy another hard drive.... :P

Also, the Quality setting for WMV doesn't affect the size of the output file, it controls whether a sharp picture or smooth interframe motion are more important. The file size is purely a function of the selected audio and video bitrates.
