That annoying RED LINE under the time line

What is that RED line under the time line? When running the project it stops at the end of the line.
I am new at this and I don't have that much hair left.

Hi Mike

It is a project playback selection.
The square brackets [ ] lower right near the scissors are multi functional.
In project playback they can select a portion of the project.

Navigate using the icons below the preview screen.
To the first frame, (home) then hit the open square bracket. (or press F3)
Now navigate to the last frame, (end) hit the closed bracket. (or press F4)

That should remove the red line.
