VS11 Error

Post by klingon_master »

I purchased VS 11.5 and have been trying to edit videos. I would try to place an AVI file into the project it gives me an error. When I click on VideoStudio to open the program it says

Please run this program from the Administrator account so it can set up your license. Once the license is set up, you can run it from any account.

I don't exactly what is going on or what I am suppose to do to get the program to work.

Version 11.5 is about a year old. Did you just purchase it? If so, from where? Has it ever worked correctly?

Um... VS11.5+ is in fact nearly two years old (the Hot Pack that upgraded VS11+ was released November 2007...) But that just reinforces the point Black Lab made that it is in fact, in software terms, now a rather old product. I too confess that when I first read the original post, I wondered where the software had come from. I have to add that I cannot recall ever having heard of (let alone personally seen) a message about running the program from the Admin account and setting up a licence...

Of course you are right Ken. I was thinking that X2 is almost a year old, so v11.5 was replaced then, and did not consider that it of course had been out for a year at that point.

I use other programs including Sony Vegas, Roxio Media Creator 10 and Magix Movie Edit Pro 12. They all work fine on my Vista Computer. My computer is a Dell with a Dual Core Processor that has 2MB of ram. When the computer starts up it gives me the same message about having to be an administrator.

I was able to render a project I had completed in Video Studio. I removed some files from the project and put some new clips in and saved the project. Now when I try to open the project it seems like it froze. I don't know exactly what is going on and If I should just remove the program and re-install it or what?

I purchased this program from a seller on Amazon. I got a serial number with the program so I was able to install this on my computer. I understand that VS11 came out in June of 2007 and the 11.5 came out in February 2008. I understand that the original VS11 came out over 2 years ago but it's so tempting to purchase the older program since it is at a good price. I know X2 can edit files faster but this was such a good price.
