How do you change or save default album transitions?

Hi,
I am using videostudio x2 pro on Windows 7 and the project I am working on has around 40 separate video clips. Each one is a short interview. Between each clip I want to use the Album transition but with amended settings (different background image, time etc.). Once I've set up the transition on the first clip, I cant find any way to copy it for the 39 other clips. If I right click the effect in the timeline copy is greyed out. When I insert the album transition again for the next clips, I'm back to the default values. I don¡¦t want to change the album settings 40 times but I can't seem to find any other way!
Anyone able to confirm this is correct or offer words of wisdom!
