I want to save a capture onto a seperate hard drive. When I attempt to do so, from the library in 'Edit mode', I find that I have saved an icon but the content is only 9kb. Obviously this is not saving the whole captured download. I guess that it's only the location and some detail on returning to the original download. How can I transfer a copy of the download to a seperate hard drive?
A further query, I want to change the presentation on the timeline to thumbnails. At the moment it shows the whole download as a (blue) constant with no picture presentation. I understand that I can change this in Preferences but on checking 'Playback Method', in Preferences, I get either 'Instant Playback' or 'High quality Playback' and no indication of how to change the timeline to thumbnail presentation.
Any help on these two questions would be appreciated.
Thank you, Roy.

As you have found out the library thumbnails are just that, thumbnails. They are not the actual file. You will find the actual files in the location you specified (in Preferences) as your working folder.
To change the clip display go to Preferences>General Tab and under Clip Display Mode you can choose between Thumbnail and File Name, File Name Only, or Thumbnail Only.

Hi
There is a ¡¥Smart Package¡¦ option that creates a folder containing all files used in a particular project.
This allows you to move/export the entire project.
I don¡¦t have this option (VS10) and have never used it. Others on the forum will give you more info if needed.
Your captured files should be in the Working Folder-View File--Preferences for its location.
Otherwise right click a clip and select properties, view the file name, this contains the location of the file. (click with mouse then scroll with arrow keys)
