Photoimpact Dead ?
It seems that we are never going to see a new version of PI as everything is Corel related, I have tried Paint Shop Pro and it is terrible, I have been using PI seen V1.0 (if that existed).
I have quite a few UFO files but they cannot be seen by any program offered by Corel, I know I can convert to PSD and use Photoshop but it is very expensive and not every one can afford it, in any case the conversion is not perfect.
Question One:
New version being developed?
Question Two:
A graphics program that will handle Photoimpact UFO files

First let me state that none of the staff have any knowledge of what Corel's plans are.
Now with that said, PIx3 has been out now for at least a year, however it was never released in the UK. The latest version for that part of the globe is PI 12.
A few months ago in an email from a Corel marketing rep for the UK to Steve, about PSP, it appeared that they are focusing on PSP and not PI. So "reading between the lines" in that email led us to believe that Corel is killing PI.

that's very bad...since PI is much more better than any PSP version. PSP is very crappy. I've tried PSP and I was horrified by the user-interface, the speed and the usability.
Since there isn't any activity at the developer? I think Photoimpact is dead!

Unfortunately there won't be a newer version of PI.

This is really sad
I have used PhotoImpact since version 4 back in the 90's. It was really excellent back then with no running problems. I can see though since Corel has bought out Ulead (hope I got that right), that there has been really no deep repairs done to the program. I see by the problems on the forums that a lot of issues have to be worked around by the individual. I was really hoping for a real fresh upgrade but that doesn't look like it will come to be to resolve issues that I have to work around. I guess I will have to bite the bullet spend some money and buy CS4 though I like Video Studio and will continue to use that program.

I've downloaded the TBYB for Corel Digital Studio 2010, and had a look at the files included with it. The menu templates for DVD Factory 2010 is still using UFO files, which of course is not supported with the latest version of PSP Express 2010 (that's Paintshop Photo Express), note that Corel has even dropped the Pro from the original Paintshop Pro...

Hi I am new to the board and I was looking at the Corel website hoping to see Photoimpact x3's latest updates and if there was a newer version out. I have used photoimpact for several years and love it. I create custom website designs and graphics for breeders and small business and photoimpact is the core of all my design programs! I will be completey heartbroke if Corel decides to drop Photoimpact. I really do not want to learn Photoshop but I guess if Photoimpact is no longer offered I will have to turn to Photoshop since its the only program to open up my ufo files. Corel, please do not take Photoimpact away from your product list. It is by far one of the most powerful programs offered! I use photoimpact for all my design work.

Hopefully your existing versions will keep you in good stead for many years yet to come. If your version works on Vista it will work on Windows 7.rckdesigns wrote:...... but I guess if Photoimpact is no longer offered I will have to turn to Photoshop since its the only program to open up my ufo files. .....
When push comes to shove Use Virtualisation!
So?
Who says we can't still use the versions of Photo Impact we bought and own. It is still usable and more advanced than several other softwares out there. Just compare and you will see. Photo Impact is still a Gem and will be still be usable many years to come?
Are you planning on removing Photo Impact from the web board forum index?
