perplexing situation
I had all my video saved in the PROx2. It was trimmed. Now i hear the audio but I don't see the picture. It's all black. I think this happened after I clicked share and made an FLV (loaded it on youtube and it was black.) So then I clicked render it in wmv and it did the same. I want to scream!!!!

Steve -- the camera details are here: http://insigniaproducts.com/products/di ... 5SR09.html
Unfortunately, even Insignia does not say what actual format the camera uses. Diane of course says 'avi', but I would hazard a guess and say it is an mpeg-4 format using .avi as the wrapper extension. You will see that the camera films in 640 x 480 frame format which, of course, is not a DVD format.
Diane -- since evidently you can actual import a file from the camera into Video Studio, can you right click on the 0003.avi file, either in the timeline or in the library window of VS, and copy down ALL its properties here please. That way at least we will know what we are dealing with.
I note, also, that on the Insignia site, the recommended software for editing video is either ArcSoft or Windows Movie Maker. The latter is interesting and makes me wonder yet again what the exact format of the video from the camera is. It might not be mpeg-4 after all since I thought WMM could not deal with that format...

My youngest son had a HD Camcorder resembling that one.
We found that we had to convert the video from it before we could edit it.
The software we used was
Super
This piece of software converts almost any video format into almost any other video format. Very useful if you've downloaded DivX Xvid or MPEG4 files off the internet and then find you are having difficulty editing them due to their highly compressed nature.

Did this reply upload already?
If not - most of what you said is Greek to me and I'm sorry. I definitely need cookie cutter instructions.
The same black screen thing happens in Windows Movie Maker and that's why I bought Corel. It also happened this week when I bought AVS Movie Maker which I since returned since it did the same thing.
The info you asked for is on this screenshot link: http://www.screencast.com/users/AlieJam ... f8b97a8723'
Thank you very much.
