Folks.....I tried a search but got over 350 hits and many were multiple threads, so I'm taking the "easy" way out and jsut posting my issue...
I'm trying to import some .mov files created by my wife using her Panosonic DMC-TZ3 "point and shoot" digital still camera. I'm using Video Studio 11+ (ver 11.5.0157.1 plus). I did the full install.
When I try to import any of these files to the timeline, Video Studio crashes, no message, nothing, just returns to Windows desktop screen.
The files themselves play fine on the same PC. Can you assist????
Thanks...RDK

Thanks for the suggestions. I had used SUPER before but for converting UTube videos. Forgot about it....
I just checked the Corel/ULead sites and did not find an update for 11+. I see a "hot fix" which seems to be for installation problems and the "Power Pack" which I thought I installed (my copy dated July 2008) after installing the program and content CD's.
If I'm missing an update, where can I find it/them?
I'm also now having a problem creating DVD's with this installation. I follow the "best practices" recipe to create an MPEG file, with a new project (properties to match the created MPEG file - PAL 16x9, 6000, etc) I select SHARE, Create Disk/DVD and then: Add Media.
It finds the file, adds it along the bottom of the screen, but when I click on "Add/Edit chapters, it does not show in the video screen where I can move the jog bar to select my chapter points. If I select "auto add chapters", the program crashes. Any thoughts?

The update you are after is at http://www.ulead.com/tech/vs/vs_ftp.htm -- and it is the bottom one, labelled Update Pack...
As for your other problem, tt has become almost a mantra with me over the past couple of months to suggest people first go to the Microsoft DirectX website and download the latest update patch. The current one is dated March 2009 and can be found at http://tiny.cc/qb58I
Note that it updates both DirectX 9.0c (XP) and 10 (Vista). The number of your DirectX installation will not change, but the patch gives extra functionality in a number of areas and corrects other faults in VS11 in particular -- and now also in X2 -- which appear linked to Windows updates. The menu preview , 'building preview graph' and other problems in the burning module, including with the menu creation (as you appearto be suffering) seem to be amongst them.
Note that DirectX is not included in the usual pattern of Windows automatic updates. It has to be done every so often by the user manually. So unless you have recently done this, you are probably still using the original, non-updated version of DirectX which came with your computer.

Ken....WOW, now seems to be working, well at least I can create chapters for my menus. THANKS.
I thought I had applied that update pack, but perhaps it slipped through a crack as I installed the other items??? It now says ver 11.5.0157.2 plus. You said there is a "hot fix" to get to 157.5? As I read the hotfix it was for clean installs which failed with an error??
Anyway, thanks....RDK
