I am evaluating switching to COOL 3D from SHADE 8.5 rather than upgrading SHADE. THANKS FOR THE CHANCE TO DEMO!
The problem is realistic dice. My dice are translucent red with the drilled in white dots. In Shade I solved this by merging little spheres into the surface of the dice face. I could then choose a type of an object join which causes the sphere to leave a hole in the dice body, and to ask that newly formed surface to be white. You can see the dots when peering through the dice. This join does not cause a bubble to stick out from the dice face, rather, it just gouges out the hole made by half of the small sphere.
Admittedly I am JUST getting started with COOL 3D, but a quick scan through the manual left me clueless on how to approach this.
Thanks in advance for any tips.

Re: Dots on dice puzzle
Several days, and no replies... So is it just a really stoooopid question, too silly to respond to, or is there no such capability?
