I use Quick Screen Recorder and VS12 and it works perfectly. Sounds like a compatibilty problem to me or have you used Camstudio before?

NOTE - I don't use Camstudio.

Most crashes have something to do with the video file. We usually don't know why... Some files work and others don't. :?

What format are your files? Do you have an option of capturing to another format? (Less-compressed formats tend to be less-trouble.)

I see that Camstudio creates "AVI" files, but AVI is a "container format" and it can contain anything from uncompressed AVI to DivX.

I only use Camstudio because it's free and the only free program I know that records in the high quality that it does, and vimeo accepts it as HD video.

But I've never imported videos into it before :( must be a problem with the videos yeah

You still haven't told us the exact format of the 'avi' files from Camstudio, and their properties...

Don't know if it is still there or not as a lot of these free web hosting sites seem to drop off after a time but I did create a template for converting Camtasia Studio into something more "useable"

Making and Sharing VideoStudio Movie Templates

Sorry unable to check myself due to the "Company Firewall"

Can you actually import video clips into Camstudio? I thought it was screen capturing software. Why would you want to import a video into it anyway or am I being more thick than usual?

Sorry. I meant that yes, Camstudio must be adding something to the video which makes CVS crash, because I have never used it before.
