Hi

After closing VSX2 Pro, I often get the following error message.

VS has encountered a problem and needs to close.
Please tell Microsoft about this problem.

There is an error report which says

AppName: vstudio.exe AppVer12.0.0.0. ModName: ulppmgr.dll
ModVer 8.0.0.0 Offset: 0000249f

Then it is supposedly sent to Microsoft if you choose to do so.

Does anyone have any idea what may be causing this?

Thanks
Gareth

I've had this a few times myself I just ignore it...the next time you use VS you will be asked if you want to recover a previously saved file....select "no". You'll be back where you left off I find.

I'm not sure what the exact cause is but my feeling is that it has something to do with the VS pre-loader that installs itself in the PC start-up

I agree with Clevo. Just ignore it.

Unfortunately, a number of people, using different versions of VS, have received this message. I have, with VS11+ in particular, but not with VS12. However, some users of the current version, apart from yourself, have also had the same problem. I think that in just about all cases, including my own, you can safely ignore the message and next time you open VS, everything should work just fine.

In my own case, when I applied the update patch and Hot Fix to VS11+ (making it VS11.5+), the problem went away and has not returned. Have you applied the patch for VS12, by the way?

Thank you for the replies.

Yes, I've applied the patch for VS12 about 3 weeks ago, so not that.

I was just curious really. It doesn't cause a problem just get the message on next start up about recovering previous project which I ignore.

Thanks for your help.
