Connecting Video Cassette Player

We still have video cassettes (tapes) and with Videostudio 7 I could use
Video Cassette Player. I have now lost the hardware for connecting
the JVC format of Video Cassette Player. Can any one suggest the sw I could look for for making movies with photographs, cd, dvd, camera, movie camera and also JVC VIDEO CASSETTE PLAYER. If there is any
reseller in Bangalore for Corel pl.let me know the name and phone number
so that I can buy the sw and also any hardware to be bought to connect the cassette player.

First we need more information in order to help you.
What model of JVC camcorder? Is it the standard VHS, or VHS-C? When you say you lost the hardware, do you mean the connecting cables? If so those are just RCA Composite, unless you're video card came with special cables, like an SCART.

What capture device were you using to capture your video to your PC?

Since VS11, analog capturing has been very problematic, using VS to capture. They have replaced the Direct Show capture plug-in with one of their own creations, IVI. It seems to refuse or is limited in analog video capturing. A work-around is to capture with any version prior to VS11, and then insert your captured video clips into the later versions.

You should be able to order software directly from Corel's website. I'm not sure what software you're inquiring about. Also I'm not familiar with any retailers in India.

Thanks. The JVC Video Cassette Player is VHS format. By hardware I mean, the attachment recd. by me when I ordered VideoStudio 7.

Hope this helps in replying to my query. While with any new version of sw I can capture photographs, CD or DVD or Sony Video Camera or digital camera, my question is to locate a software which can support capturing clippings from the old Video Cassette Players. You will recall the Video Cassette Players use to come with VHS version or Sony Beta tapes (smaller in size).

I use my Sony DCR-TRV 120 as a pass-through analog-digital converter to capture my old Beta and VHS. I connect the VCR to my Sony camcorder, and then my camcorder is connected to my PC by Firewire. The software I use is either an earlier version of VS, or WinDV.

Sorry I don't know what the attachment might be. Could you please be specific?

need some clarification here-did you mean that the VCR, camcorder +PC
were all connected at the same time and then you captured live
footage as it played ? I have captured analogue video from another cam into my camcorder before and then captured the result into VS as dv............ken

When I converted my VHS to digital I invested in a TV Card and simply hooked the VHS player up to it. Depending upon the individual TV Card and VHS player this can be done either by using the standard coaxial aerial cable, or you can use RCA plugs (Red/White/Yellow).

Having done so then you can use VideoStudio or MovieFactory to record the VHS onto your computer, alternatively most TV Cards come with their own purpose built recording software.

The set-up I have for converting VHS tapes is a USB TV dongle with inbuilt HD tuner. It's made by Kaiser Baas and it only cost me $90 AUD.

I can also watch & record TV.

It works really well and VS X2 recognises the dongle and I can capture straight from TV or VHS
