MF 6 Text Fade-in Fade-out

I'm using text as an overlay on images and videos. To insert the text, I double click the image in the Edit Room preview window and type the text. When the clip is played, the text on some of the images slowly fades in and fades out. On other images it just abruptly appears. I've checked the layout of the text overlays in the Timeline view versus the transition effect for the images and all of them look the same. I like the text fade-in fade-out effect better, but I can't figure out how to make it work this way on all of my images.

I think you are seeing the fade in/out of both the video and the text. Effects for slide shows are only applied to groups of pictures and not individual slide insertions. Thus the first slide starts with no transition, whilst the rest of the group works as expected.
