Color clips

When I use color clips from the library in a 16:9 AVCHD project, it turns out that all the clips in the library are 4:3 and can't be changed. Is this normal? Unusable for 16:9 projects?

Can you be more specific regarding your workflow.

With my project set to 16:9, when I drop a color clip onto the timeline it is automatically adjusted to a 16:9 aspect ratio.

Indeed in a 16:9 project it looks as if they are converted, as well as in the resulting DVD and/or video file. Strange enough, only when I create a WVM file out of the same project, the color clips (and only the co;or clips) show up as 4:3.

I don't know. I dropped a color clip in the timeline, set my project for 16:9, then went to Share>Create Video File. First I chose a WMV template (HD 720 30p), then I did a second, choosing Custom>WMV, and both produced a 16:9 video file of my color clip.

And what version of VS are you using? That will have an affect on what templates are available.

The .WMV format is HD 720 25p from an AVCHD project, straight from the original timeline (not from a reloaded AVCHD file).
My x2 pro version is 12.0.98.1 Pro

Maybe someone with AVCHD clips can try to replicate your problem.

Indeed...
Of course a 16:9 image from Photoshop and inserted as an image solves the problem.
I have even more issues with the "straight from the timeline" stuff.
On two different occasions I got a problem when creating (burning) an SD DVD straight from the timeline containing VBR 16Mb/s AVCHD clips.
the DVD's stopped on a specific scene when played on several home DVD players (not on PC, not on a BD player). I verified the bitrates and saw they went up to 12Mb/s and at onsa specific scene up to 18Mb/s, while the max bitrate was set a 8Mb/s. Exactly the same clips resulted in a perfect SD DVD when first a (AVCHD Pal HD 1920) video file was created and from there the DVD'S. Ever seen this before?
