Shift entire timeline to right in VS12?

Post by ski2 »

Hello all,

I'm using Video Studio Pro X2 to create a wedding video. I made the entire video project, and it worked great. Now, however, they want me to add about 3 minutes of photos and music to the beginning.

My problem is that there's some very precisely set audio and video synchronization throughout the project, with audio on both the voice and music tracks. If I insert the pictures to the beginning, it will shift the video track that much to the right, but not the voice or music tracks.

Is there some way to lock the video, music, and voice tracks together to move them all at once?

Thanks in advance.

Nevermind, got it! Ripple Editing is what I needed.

Yes that's it...Ripple editing...perfect for what you want to do.

Careful that you have locked ALL the necessary tracks..I've missed some in the past because I didn't scroll down enough.

What I do now is when I open the project (VSP file) I save it in a slightly different name and work on the copy. Since VSP files are very small files it's an easy way to save the stages in your work.

I tend to work organically and sometimes need to go back to a few versions to remove complicated tangents I went to...or in some cases I like to work on "my version" ratherthan "theirs"
