Smartsound DVD's don't install correctly in VS12

Has anyone successfully installed the DVD's with several sound packs on them from Smartsound?

I can put CD's in with no problem and they install nicely.

When I try the DVD it comes up telling me it can't find the files when it tries to copy them.

I'm trying to install the DVD for this:

http://www.smartsound.com/music/discpreview.php?lib=178

Along with a couple of others that don't load (same reason.)

Any success stories or suggestions?

I have installed several DVD based smartsound libraries. They act and behave in the same way as the CD based libraries.

I have purched a few CD's from Smartsound and they have all installed properly.

If you put the CD in while VSx2 is open it will be recognised immediatly and ask you to install

It sounds as if this might be a problem with the CD drive. If it loads a CD OK but not a DVD with the same type of files on it then does not logic suggest the CD/DVD drive.
jimerb Can you get access to another PC tp try?

The CD's are working fine. It's the DVD's that aren't. It won't copy the files to my hard drive.

I'm thinking that it's the way that the Library Enablers are configured.

Can anyone point to a resource to mess with the .SDI files?

I've even tried copying the whole dvd to the hard drive. No luck.

Smartsound has nothing on the site that references Videostudio 12 and this issue.

I don't have access to another PC but my dvd drive is working.

Since we're talking about SmartSound on DVDs, I assume we are talking about the Strata series of discs...? If so, it could be that with the new technology involved in their compositions, that they are not meant to work with QuickTracks in programs like VS, but only with their parent software i.e. Sonic Fire Pro. And I believe that you have to have Sonic Fire 4.5 and above even to get them to work there...

Hmmm...!! I wonder how the SmartSound module in VS handles all the single instrument possibilities of the Strata Series discs, then....

It doesn't...

you'll need the Sonic Fire Pro software.
