Hi
Was a member but became inactive as they say so now back with new moniker. (Use Pro X2 and Vista 32 bit)
Simple maiden post really. I recently bought a batch of DVD-RW (4* speed) but it seems that they are not recognised by the prog and you cannot create disk etc. (TDK disks)
Just wondered if anyone else had this problem.
Many thanks

Curious -- I have a batch of 5 TDK 4x RW disks, which I bought precisely to work with X2 (I always burn an RW of my projects first just to make sure it works fine in a player and on my TV). The only difference is that they are +RW and not -RW and they work fine...
Have you tried running an Erase program on them once to see if they will then work?

Many thanks
Will check out the the burner spec and use the erase prog. The problem is not X2 specific as they won't play on Roxio either.

DVD Burner
Hi
It shipped with DELL XPS420 and hasn't given me any hassle so far. Its a PBDS DVD +-RWDH 16W1S. I was told that it might be made by Phillips Benq and could be a"Liteon clone".
Does that help?
Drivers seem to be up to date so I guess I will just have to go back to DELLS for their advice.

NO - Under no circumstances format the discbabdi wrote:Format the discand try burning.
If you do you will not be able to use your disc for creating Video DVDs.
Formatted discs are for "Packet Writing" where you sort of turn the disc into a removable hard drive where (using windows explorer) you can drag and drop files, photos, music etc onto the disc as though it were a hard drive.
If you are having problems writing to a disc then either the discs you are using are faulty, the burner is faulty, there is a conflict or the discs are "too new" for the burner and require a firmware update.
Please look at the link in my previous answer.
