Printing photos/images from video

Hi all and thank you in advance.

I have made a video of a friends wedding and created stills to go with music.

I tried to look for the images but couldn't find them on my Hdd.

what I am after if it is possible??? is......

I want to capture images from the video footage, but then be able to print them out??

I want to (if possible) load them into photoshop and edit them, then print them onto a DVD and also as a cover on the DVD case.

I did something like this years ago, but I had still photos that I took with my digital camera, I didn't have one this time so I only have the video footage.

Is there any way of capturing images from the video and then saving them to edit/print?
I am using VS 12

With the clip selected (Clip Mode) on the timeline you can click on Save As Still Image, or when in Project Mode click Tools>Save Current Frame As Image. Either way will save an image file to the working folder that you designate in Preferences. From there you can open them with your image editing program, print them, etc.

Hi

Yes you can do that....

Create a folder on your hard drive for the images.
File Preferences-allocate the working folder as the new folder.
From the capture tab select BMP as the image type.

Open your project, navigate to the frame you require¡Xmake sure your in project playback mode, click the word ¡¥project¡¦ adjacent to play button.

Tools¡XSave Current Frame as Image
This will save the image to the working folder. Placing a thumbnail in the library.

For Pal 4:3 the image will be 768 x 576
Widescreen 16:9 1024 x 576

Edit these in photoshop, unfortunately the small pixel size does not lend itself to large prints.

Consider using the images in a slide show, add to your movie.

I did this a few months ago where I "extracted" frames from a Wedding DVD. I had them printed via an on line printing service to a standard 6" x 4" and was pleased with the quality considering the source material.

You can quickly and cheaply test the quality for yourself by grabbing one or perhaps two still images from a video, and then popping along to your local supermarket (Tesco, Asda, Wallmart etc) and getting an instant print for about the same cost as a daily newspaper. If you are happy with the quality and find you have lots to print then you can upload the rest to an online printing service who will provide not just cheaper prints but slightly better results than the instant machines at the supermarkets.
