Older camcorders and Vista

In my research on a Sony DCR TRV 140 I have ran across conflicting reports that it will not work with Vista, Anyone run into this before?

Some people have run into problems with various camcorders, but it doesn't seem to have been down to any particular model so it seems to be trial and error.
