Hi there,

Again newbie question. What I would like to do is to edit my clips in X2 pro and render back to mts file. How to do that? Reason is I want to copy file back to my SD card and playback in my AVCHD cam. So that I can hook up my cam to my friend HDTV and playback the clip.

I'm guessing that you are located in the UK
I have a Canon HG10 that saves to MTS files. I think you will find that you cannot do what you suggest. The manual on my camera says you can upload the original MTS files but you cannot edit a file then save it back to an MTS to upload to the camera or card.

In a round about way it is possible to achieve what you want but using other software in addition to VS X2.
My camcorder, a panasonic,HDC-SD100EBK also produces AVCHD as MTS.
As my PC is not up to editing AVCHD I batch converted using VS X2 to HDV.
Did what ever editing I wanted to and saved the final version as an HDV video file.

I then imported this file into Nero Vision 5, which is part of the Nero 9 suite of programs and maybe earlier suites.
Nero vision 5 allows you to burn an AVCHD DVD file to a hard disk folder. It creates a BDMV structure which you can save to your SD card and replace the original BDMV on the SD card.
This assumes that the SD card is empty. Within the BDMV structure will be a stream file that will contain an MTS file.
If you get the structure right the resultant video should play back via your camcorder.Mine did.

An alternative, which I have just discovered and which works very well is to buy a WD TV media player. Output from VS X2 to a USB portable hard drive or a pen drive, the edited AVCHD file. Connect the drive to a USB port on the WD TV, connect to your HDTV using an HDMI cable and view your HD movie on your TV.
